Friday (3/18/16)
3:00 PM
In this helpful presentation attendees were able to listen to 4 chapters give a short presentations on each of their chapter's experiences in gaining & retaining members. Each chapter had many helpful suggestions for possible improvements for chapters having difficulties with these aspects...

University of Washington - Seattle
- Create recruitment video (show fun, social, & genuine aspects of AMA)
- "Add value everywhere"... find internship contacts just for AMA members, positions for everyone who wants a position, free promotional items
- Create powerful website; keep members updated with weekly 'Minutes' postings

Eastern Michigan University
- Promote AMA as a fun, relaxed, environment
- Hold fun recruitment event 1st week of semester (ex. Fajita Fest), speak in classes after
- Have members get to know/hang out with each other, improve interpersonal connections
- Ask who wants to be future board members & have them work with that current VP
- Tour radio stations/sport headquarters/brands nearby; use LinkedIn to make connections
- Have some meetings formal, some informal dress codes for mix of professionalism with fun

University of Rhode Island
- Focus recruitment on 1st year/new students; assist with move-in!; look into accepted students days
- Have 'Marketer's Night' during Marketing Week; No-Shave November fundraising
- Points/offers for bringing friends to meetings/networking events
- Interactive booth at Involvement Fair

University of Texas - San Antonio
- Better rewards for each points system tier (letter for recommendation for star members!)
- End-of-semester survey for feedback

Misc. Ideas during Q+A
-"AMA After Dark" hang-out group
- Local conference with URI, Salve Regina, Rhode Island College, etc.
- Partner with other groups & Greek life
- Have members bring family to external fundraisers
- Make connections with current/future leaders of clubs & offices (ex. SGA)
- Small groups within chapter for better interaction/connectedness
- Open Floor discussion
- Utilize Facebook Analytics
