As I've been writing all my blog posts about the presentations I attended, I've had a good chance to reflect on my time down in New Orleans very thoroughly. I can say with all honesty that I've never learned so much and had so much fun than I did on this trip. For the rest of my life I'll always be ridiculously thankful that I was given the opportunity to attend the AMA Collegiate Conference. I especially liked being able to experience this event with my fellow BSU AMA members, who I hope enjoyed my company as much as I enjoyed theirs. While down there I got to meet AMA members from all over the country including a chapter from Cleveland, a kid from Wisconsin who was willing to invite me out to a Packers game with his season tickets, a girl from British Columbia who was giving out snow cones at the chapter exhibits that quizzed me on facts about Canada, and of course we ran into plenty of people from the New England who also made the trip down for the conference.
I learned so much from all the presentations I went to and will take what I learned and apply it to my life going forward. My favorite one though was oddly the first one I went to on Friday. You can click here to go to my post and read all I learned during it. While in New Orleans I got the opportunity to compete against 199 other marketers in the Perfect Pitch competition. For the competition I had to pitch myself to a panel of 3 judges in 90 seconds. A lot of people in line were nervous but I know that doing all those elevator pitches at AMA meetings would Finally come in handy. Unfortunately though I did not make it to the next round, but I definitely gained more confidence in being able to pitch myself in a professional way.
As my last semester at Bridgewater State comes to a close and I prepare for the next stage of my life, I will always cherish the memories, the lessons I learned, and the friends I made while attending the AMA ICC 2016 in New Orleans
