Small School Chapter Success

Saturday (3/19/16)
9:00 AM
We began Saturday by attending concurrent sessions about leading our chapter to success.  During this time, I had the opportunity to attend a presentation by 4 schools on how to effectively advertise the AMA to the limited supply of business students at a small school.  Many of these ideas included fundraisers & ways to raise awareness of the AMA on campus.
Each of the presenters on behalf of the chapters had helpful tips that the AMA at BSU plans to consider going forward!

Chatham University
- "Young Art Fair" attracts local community & fun event for young children to grow as artists; raffle off artwork in silent auction
- "Holiday Wreaths" fundraiser raised $900 from selling to students & faculty
- "Spa Night" fundraiser with massages, manicures, pedicures, & more
- Very active on social media; have Snapchat

Salve Regina University
- Constant support & reminders to students from faculty
- "Swipe for Hunger" = donate 1 meal swipe; money goes to family in need of food

Truman University
- "Adopt-A-Street" consistent clean-up effort/community service project
- Utilize GroupMe for keeping members up-to-date
- Survey members for what they want to see more/less of
- Mocktail networking event

University of Texas - El Paso
- Focus on family dynamic
- 'Get out of the building' & make effort to be seen outside on campus & in the local community
- Offer free consulting to local businesses
- Strategic career planning
- Try new & quirky products catered to fundraising events
