Sports CRM
Amy Dunleavy is a recent college graduate and was also a member of the AMA at Ferris State University. Today, she works as a CRM and Data Analyst for the Detroit Red Wings. Amy gave a great presentation on her day to day life as a CRM analyst and her responsibilities on game days, but what was most helpful was the advice she gave us about finding an internship. Amy stated that when she was in college she had an internship working for the volleyball team and although she enjoyed this, her passion was in data analysis. Amy then asked the athletic department for their ticketing sales information for all of the home varsity hockey games since they competed in division 1. She then analyzed and graphed all of the data from the previous five years and developed a marketing plan to increase ticket sales. She included the promotional sales that worked best and the best days to sell the tickets at a discounted price to draw a larger audience. Amy created her own internship through her school that allowed her to gain experience in a field where very few internships are offered. Today, she now trains and hires interns to work below her at her current job.
