Sports CRM

I was very interested in attending this presentation, mostly because I knew that it'd be a combination of two things I like that really relate to each other. Sports are one of the things I'm passionate about but even more so, using analytics to market each brand is something I'm very interested in learning about. The presentation was given by Amy Dunleavy, a CRM and data analyst for the Detroit Red Wings. She explained how CRM works and is able to do and mentioned that if you can organize your DVD collection, then you could do CRM

Ms. Dunleavy explained how she had grew her career from an intern for Ferris State University's volleyball team to a data analyst for the Red Wings. While she enjoyed the internship, data was her true passion and asked the athletic department for all the information on the ticket sales for the Varsity hockey team. This paved the way to an Internship with the Charlotte Hornets where she developed a sales rep evaluator. After she completed that internship, she made her way over to the Columbus Blue Jackets and was a CRM coordinator.  While there she would compose lists of emails that were given during games to use the WiFi as well as secondary data from third part ticket brokers. She was then offered the job in Detroit after someone over there heard her presentation. Though she loved working for Columbus, she knew that Detroit would be the best thing she had done yet. Currently she is working with her team members to touch base with season ticket holders to renew their tickets for next year.
